Description Planting Information

This heirloom variety is a delicious relative of sweet basil. The plants have purple tinged small leaves and the distinct scent of cinnamon. The leaves may be used in tea or added to stewed tomatoes. Cinnamon Basil is wonderful when used as a fresh ingredient in Mexican or Indian dishes. Add to fruit dishes such as applesauce or stewed peaches. To get the best combination of basil and cinnamon use the leaves raw; cooking may lessen the wonderful flavor of this unusual basil. If you like the flavor of cinnamon, this basil is a wonderful addition to your home garden. Because of it's beautiful leaves and stems, it may also be grown as an ornamental. This variety is also used to repel insects and can be planted around tomato plants for that purpose. (Annual)

Packet size: 1 gram (approximately 600 seeds)
