This variety produces vigorous hardy semi-upright plants with  crumpled glossy dark green leaves. It is fast growing and slow to bold. This spinach does not do well during desert summers. It is considered a cool weather crop, though it can withstand moderate heat. 40 days.

DEPTH OF PLANTING: 1/2" deep

PLANTS APART IN ROWS (AFTER THINNING): 6" apart

DISTANCE BETWEEN ROWS: 12" apart

RAISED BED PLANTING GUIDE: After thinning, plants should be 6" apart throughout bed.

SOIL TYPE RECOMMENDED: well drained, sandy loam

NOTE: Spinach does not do well in hot weather. Cut spinach leaves and the plant will continue to produce.

TUCSON PLANTING INFORMATION: Plant August 20 - March 1. Except for New Zealand Spinach, fall is the best season to grow spinach.
