Description
Planting Information
A member of the mint family, catnip has heart shaped grey-green leaves and grows to a height of about two feet. The flowers are pale pink and pale lavender. Fresh catnip steeped in water and sprinkled on plants will repel some garden pests. Most cats absolutely love catnip and will roll on top of the plant. The dried herb can be put into cloth pouches as a scented toy for your cat. Catnip does not transplant well but grows easily from seed. (Biennial)
Catnip
(Biennial) - Sow directly in its growing bed, catnip does not transplant well. Plants should be about 12" apart throughout the bed. Catnip prefers a rich soil but does well almost anywhere. Tucson Planting Information: Spring planting is desirable, catnip grows well through summer.
